Courtney Mann is a licensed professional counselor (LPC) with experience counseling older children, teenagers, adults, and families both in the individual and group counseling settings. She has worked with people of varying cultures and presenting problems and has a particular passion for counseling families of children with special needs.
As a child, Courtney knew that whatever profession she chose, she wanted to do her best to love people well and listen to them. Naturally, counseling was a perfect fit! Being able to travel as a youth as well as serve on various mission trip teams, Courtney grew up viewing the world through the lens of a constant learner and still holds to that viewpoint on life today. She loves any opportunity to travel to meet and serve new people.
A Bulldawg to the core, Courtney spent her undergrad cheering on the Dawgs while working towards a degree in Child and Family Development. She then went on to receive both a Masters in Marriage and Family Therapy and a PhD in Psychology and Counseling from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth, Texas. Her passion has always been to walk alongside hurting individuals and families and assist them in the process of healing through seeing themselves in light of how God defines their worth and His design for relating to one another in love and forgiveness.
In her free time, Courtney loves creative writing and spends her evening hours musing about her experiences as a mother of a child with special needs. It is a unique world rife with its own set of both humorous and heartbreaking stories, and she loves to tell them. She and her husband are apart of a special needs small group at their church, which has been an amazing form of community and healing through our own journey of parenting. On weekends, you will see her playing tennis with a neighborhood team of lively women who never fail to make her laugh. She danced ballet throughout her childhood and early adulthood, so if meet with her, she may just be able to do a pirouette or two for you!
